1. Visa Information

It is very likely that one does not need a visa to enter Singapore. However, there are a few exceptions. Please check out the detailed information on visa requirements and application from Immigration & Checkpoint Authority.

Directions from Changi Airport

Taxi
The journey between the airport and city is estimated to cost between S$18.00 and S$38.00 and takes approximately 30 minutes. Tipping is uncommon.
Airport Shuttle
The Airport Shuttle service serves all hotels in Singapore with the exception of Changi Village Hotel and hotels on the Sentosa Island. The service leaves every 15 minutes from 0600hr to midnight and 30 minutes at other hours. The cost is S$9.00 per Adult or S$6.00 per Child and chartering is available.
Trains
The Changi Airport Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station is located under Terminals 2 and 3. The first train arrives at around 0530hr and the last leaves at 2318hr. A single fare to the city costs about S$2.70 (inclusive of S$1.00 refundable deposit) and takes approximately 27 minutes. Tickets are available at the station.
Car Rentals
Avis operates at all three terminals and Hertz operates at Terminal 2 and 3. Their counters are open from 0700hr to 2300hr.

Major international airlines have direct or connecting flights to Singapore daily. You can contact your travel agents for more details.


4. Climate and Weather

It is generally warm and humid in Singapore throughout the year. Its equatorial climate has no distinct seasons and temperature is usually around 30°C/86°F during the day and 23°C/74°F in the evening. Humidity is around 60% in the afternoon but higher in the morning. Weather reports and forecasts can be found through National Environment Agency, but keep in mind that showers are usually sudden and heavy.

Lightweight cotton or quick-dry clothing is recommended. A coat or sweater can be useful as some air-conditioned venues can be a little cold.


5. Time

The official time in Singapore is UTC/GMT +8 and there is no daylight saving time. Sunrise and sunset in July are at around 0700hrs and 1915hrs, respectively.
